It can be hard planning to make changes in a sustained way. Ever tried to lose weight, give up a habit or get fit? It’s great when things go well, but it’s easy to become discouraged and give up when times seem harder of there is a setback.
Evidence shows that getting the right kind of support can make a huge impact on how well people improve when they use sites like this.
Am I getting the right kind of support?
Support means more than just having someone ask you how things are going. Instead the key is receiving structured, focused support that helps you plan to use and apply the various online and book based resources. If you make and review plans this will help keep you motivated and on track. Also it can help you get extra help if you feel stuck or that things are going backwards.
Who can offer you support?
Suffolk wellbeing offers you the chance to rate your mood and complete various courses online.
The questionnaires you answer will help you consider whether you need additional support. After completing them you will be offered a link either to our general wellbeing courses which offer the option of automated weekly email support, or to have the opportunity of an assessment by a mental health worker who is employed within the local NHS serving the local area.
They can speak to with you to help you decide together which of the online courses and what level of support you might benefit from.
It’s completely your choice whether you choose to take up this offer of the assessment interview or of any further support or advice.
Not getting structured support?
If you are recommended for the general courses without an assessment interview, you can always request an additional support review by the NHS worker from your dashboard when you are logged in.
